The new transmission has a warranty of 12K miles / 12 months whichever is earlier. Nissan agreed to pay out 75% of the transmission replacement cost. I really was not aware that it would get crippled so easily. I did not floor it anytime during my daily commute. But that may be couple of times per year when we go on a road trip or a vacation. Since I was worried of the transmission failures of 20, I took lot of precautions by doing a CVT Fluid drain and fill three times at below mileage. My service person asked me contact Nissan to see if they can do anything for me. Got a invoice of $4400.ĭealer also mentioned that there are no metal shavings in the transmission and the fluid is in excellent condition. Took it back again on the same day.ĭealer mentioned that the valve body and transmission needs to be replaced. But the same issue was happening even after the flash. Took it to the dealer and asked them to diagnose the issue and they charged me $185 for diagnosis.ĭealer did a transmission software flash and sent me back. But here it dropped to 4K with the speed dropping and then all of a sudden picked it up back. It always goes up over 6K rpm and stays there till it take off my foot. In the below video I have mashed the accelerator pedal all the way (with the click it makes at the end or the pedal travel). In the first half of below video (Moderate Acceleration), I have held the accelerator pedal around 4000 rpm and it erratically shifts to 3K then 4K then 3K. This is happening at moderately high to full throttle acceleration. The car automatically drops RPMs and loses power. Since last week, my car is running into issues with acceleration. I purchased the car brand new with 35 miles on the odometer and all the past 90000 miles have been put on by only me. I have a 2015 Nissan Altima SL with a 2.5L Engine.
